Let α > 0 be a constant. We establish the oscillatory behavior of the second order nonlinear differential equation (*) (a(t)ψ(x)|x′|α-1x′)′ + q(t)f(x) = r(t), t ≥ t0 > 0, where a, q, r ∈ C([t0, ∞), ℝ) and f, ψ ∈ C(ℝ, ℝ), a(t) > 0, is a constant, q(t) ≢ 0 and ψ(x) > 0 for x ≠ 0.
