摘要
Architects design according to a combination of client needs and their own ideas. This work examines how architects in Taiwan frequently choose to obtain design information from the client or from their own professional field. The statistical structural equation modeling and LISREL techniques are applied to demonstrate how architects select information using memory accessibility and message diagnosis during the early stages of design. Architects were first found to seek architectural information and then to stress the special needs of the client over the standard information available to the architect. This finding helps designers consider how a client's design thinking and how an architect's normal approach to working with a client are used to integrate information into a design.
