Coding-residual-based motion vector recovery algorithm

摘要

Recently video communication has been massively adopted in internet transmission, and H.264/AVC is the major standard for the compressed video stream. To overcome channel errors resulted from the unstable connection quality of internet, many methods have been proposed for error concealment. Motion vector (MV) recovery is one of the most commonly used methods. We proposed a novel MV recovery method that utilizes the encoding residual information in the neighborhood of the lost MBs, to enhance the performance of MV extrapolation (MVE) and better conceal errors. In our proposed method, better MVs could be found after interpolation with inverse residual weighting. Experimental results show that compared to the state-of-the-art error concealment algorithm, our algorithm provides better performance subjectively and objectively.
