摘要

The electric arc furnace oxidizing slag is produced by the steel plant as an industrial by-product, with a production of 100 million tons in Taiwan annually. The purpose of this study was to stabilize the EAF oxidizing slag by using oxalic acid as a replacement for fine aggregates in cement mortar process and using geopolymer technology to prevent oxidizing slag expansion. The experimental results showed using oxalic acid could significantly stabilize the EAF oxidizing slag and the mechanical properties. On the other hand, the EAF oxidizing slag in the geopolymer system could completely inhibit the expansion. The test samples in geopolymer system had higher compressive strength than cement system. The 28 days compressive strength of geopolymer system and cement system were 30MPa and 22MPa, respectively. These results gave encouragement that the stabilized EAF oxidizing slag could be replaced as a feasible natural fine aggregate.
