A cutting and manufacturing optimization method for TFT-LCD industry

摘要

This study proposes a cutting and manufacturing optimization method for TFT-LCD industry. First, we establish a mathematical model of two-dimensional cutting problem to find out all kinds of cutting combinations. Then, we seek the optimal manufacturing way according to the demands of the orders. This algorithm maximizes the utilization of the glass substrate and reduces the production costs. Additionally, the solution of the proposed algorithm is a global optimum which is different from a local optimum or a feasible solution that is found by the heuristic algorithms. Numerical examples are also presented to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.
