Abstract
In order to indorse the exploitation of waste marble powder in geopolymer composites, an attempt to improve the stategy of best from the waste, a marble based geopolymer composites were produced. The persistence of this study is by using marble powder and GGBFS as the raw materials to fabricate geopolymer composites with different concentration alkaline solutions. The experiment results confirmation that after 28days of curing, the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete with 6M and 4M alkaline solution, a compressive strength could reach 44 and 36 MPa, respectively. Fireproof performance of marble-based geopolymer mortar is exhibit brilliant resistance as compared to reference OPC mortar. Besides, marble-based geopolymer paste solidifies heavy metal as reference OPC paste. Compared with OPC concrete, the marble based geopolymer concrete not only has proved superior physical/mechanical properties but also can reduce CO2 emission up to at least 50%. As a consequence, it is feasible that using marble waste could be use as building material in construction industry.
