Abstract
The main theme of this paper is to present the design and implementation of dual servo motor drives control using single micro controller unit to achieve either separate control and synchronous control of motor drives. The advantages of dual motor drives control using the same MCU including easy to achieve synchronous control in between. The delay contributed by calculation, filter and PWM generation, etc. is considered for controller design. Two servo motors, one is with absolute encoder and the other one is with incremental encoder, are used for experimental test. Renesas MCU, RZ/T1, is used as the controller for the implementation. Experimental results show the bandwidth for position loop of servo drives with switching frequency is improved and synchronous control between two motor drives can be easily achieved.
