Abstract

Owing to CO2 is an environmentally friendly natural refrigerant, recently, its application on heat pump has been great interested worldwide. Among those applications, CO2 heat pump water heater, one of the most interesting topics, has been aggressively studied due to its outstanding heating performance. The water heating flow rate is a significant factor to affect the system COP in a heat pump water heating loop connected to a storage tank, and there is not many experimental studies focused on it. Therefore, in this paper, an optimal heating COP under various water heating flow rate of a CO2 heat pump system was studied. The results show that water flow rate is a significant factor to the COP, and the optimal COP can be found for a series of various water flow rate.
