Abstract

The objective of this research is to formulate a model for an ambulance location problem. This study proposes a new MEXCLP-DS model combined MEXCLP with DSM to solve a double standard coverage ambulance location problem under a probabilistic situation, to provide sufficient coverage of emergency medical services once an ambulance is dispatched to a call in the real world. The proposed MEXCLP-DS model has presented the benefits of relocation emergence vehicles. The results clearly demonstrate the model can not only satisfy 100% of demands within 8 minutes standard arriving time (as 5.3 km), but also achieve 95% of demands within 5 minutes standard arriving time (as 3.3 km) while locating only 4 facilities.
